SRGEurope has been appointed to recruit an experienced SQL Server Database Architect to join an exciting award winning & growing company in Spain. The SQL Server Database Architect will work on items coming from 3 different streams: architecture backlog (running in sprints), planned reviews & ad-hoc questions from the development team & troubleshooting live issues in coordination with our Support team.

SQL Server Database Architect Responsibilities:

• Assist designing & building data models & database oriented applications
• Help with SQL (& database related) code reviews
• Help analysing database performance issues & providing suggestions for improvement.
• Participate actively on architecture reviews & technical design meetings
• Investigate new trends & technologies in database-related area
• Creating proofs of concept for adopting new technology into products
• Revise database development best practices
• Define database maintenance guidelines for both clients & company environments
• Define & own database performance monitoring in production environments
• Help support team solving complex database issues (& in some cases take client DBA calls)
• Help managed services team solving database issues in production environments
• Mentor / train Software Developer Engineers on how to deal with data stores & for query tuning & efficient database development

SQL Server Database Architect Requirements:

• Fluency in English is essential.
• Candidate must hold an EU / UK passport or right to work in Spain
• Extensive experience in a Data Base Expert- SQL Server Developer role.
• Datawarehouse design & maintenance
• BI skills (Power BI, Spotfire) - desireable
