Senior Client Accountant - Insurance - Gibraltar - Salary £40,000 to £55,000

We are recruiting for experienced Senior Client Accountants to join an established Insurance Company based in both Gibraltar and the UK. The Senior Client Accountant will be a key member of the Companies Senior Management Team and primarily responsible for the internal and external financial requirements for the client and the clients Companies. You will be a commercially focussed Senior Client Accountant with similar experience in a similar role within the Insurance sector. This Senior Client Accountant vacancy has arisen due to a restructure of the business and is of key importance to the Finance Team.

Senior Client Accountant Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and manage the monthly management accounts
  • Preparation of annual budget and reforecasts
  • Preparation of the coinsurance and quota share bordereaux
  • Cash flow management
  • Conduct accurate and timely inter-company accounting and invoicing
  • Liaise with the auditors at year end and on an on-going basis as and when required
  • Responsible for managing the auditors in their preparation of statutory accounts and corporation tax returns
  • Overview of banking function
  • Analysis of cash and investments and investment income
  • Prepare legal, statutory and regulatory returns, to include but not limited to the following FSC returns, IPT, ABI, MIB, FOS, FSCS, LFB
  • Overview of banking function
  • Manage the workload and review the work of the Assistant Financial Accountant, including conducting their annual appraisals and setting and monitoring objectives
  • Ensure correct levels of controls are implemented and maintained within the finance department
  • Motivate, mentor and train the Assistant Financial Accountant
  • Maintain accurate and up to date process notes
  • Undertake project work as required
  • Work closely with the other team members to provide coordinated service to the business
  • Deputise for the Head of Finance with Regulatory Contacts when required
  • To ensure compliance with company and other relevant standards/regulations at all times
  • Any other duties as reasonably required

Senior Client Accountant Skills:

  • Ideally Qualified ACA,ACCA,CIMA level
  • Must have at least 2 to 3 years similar experience working within the Insurance sector working with Clients on their Accounting requirements
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Good time management and organisation skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines
  • People management and leadership skills and ability to motivate employees in a high pressurised environment
  • Problem solving skills, with the ability to identify problems and adopt a logical approach to resolving problems
  • Excellent numeracy skills
  • Computer literate
  • Commercially focused
