SRGEurope are actively recruiting for a hands on, motivated and commercially minded Finance Director to join a market leading Insurance business with a base on the vibrant and sunny island of Gibraltar. The Finance Director must be fully qualified ACA or ACCA or the equivalent and will be pivotal to the Gibraltar Board of Directors providing strategic advice for company growth. The appointed Finance Director must have excellent managerial skills and proven project management skills.

The Finance Director Role and Responsibilities are:

• Budgeting and Forecasting for Directors approval
• Audit liaising with external auditors to produce the statutory annual accounts and audits conducted by business partners and underwriters on processes, compliance and reporting
• Month end and reporting, reviewing journals, payroll, bordereaux and fixed assets with the Finance Assistant
• Production of commission statements for partners and declaration of bordereau to underwriter
• Reviewing the monthly management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations prepared by the Finance Assistant
• Providing detailed commentary and analysis of the financials and any material variances to budget
• Producing various other external reporting documents such as TCF reports, complaints bordereaux and monthly files to be shared with underwriters and our partners
• Competitor analysis and benchmarking
• Creation of pricing files for deployment into live retail environments
• Overseeing the weekly pricing and product checks performed by the Finance Assistant and CSU agents and addressing any issues identified
• Production of monthly analysis on customer failed payment collections for IT to action re-collection of insurance premiums
• Driving a project with CSU & IT to automate this process
• Manage the relationship with the external data warehouse provider and performing analysis on the results produced every month
• Managing the company pension scheme for eligible new joiners, leaves and any changes to employee or employer contributions throughout the year

The Finance Director Profile will be as follows:

• Qualified member of a UK accountancy body (ACA, ACCA,CIMA) or holder of an equivalent qualification
• Insurance industry knowledge is ideal but not essential
• Strong IT skills, advanced Excel user essential
• Ability to handle high levels of pressure and critical decision-making
• Energetic, highly motivated, with an enquiring mind and passion for excellence and innovation in pursuit of business growth and success
