SRGEurope are recruiting for an experienced Senior Accountant to join an established Insurance Company based in both Gibraltar and the UK. The Senior Accountant will be a key member of the Companies Senior Management Team and primarily responsible for the internal and external financial requirements for their clients and the clients Companies. You will be commercially focussed with similar experience in a similar role within the Insurance/Professional/Corporate sector. The role reports to the Finance Director based in Gibraltar.

Senior Accountant Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and manage the monthly management accounts
  • Preparation of annual budget and reforecasts
  • Preparation of the coinsurance and quota share bordereaux
  • Cash flow management
  • Conduct accurate and timely inter-company accounting and invoicing
  • Liaise with the auditors at year end and on an ongoing basis as and when required
  • Responsible for managing the auditors in their preparation of statutory accounts and corporation tax returns
  • Overview of banking and investments of client
  • Prepare legal, statutory and regulatory returns, to include but not limited to: FSC returns, IPT, ABI, MIB, FOS, FSCS, LFB
  • Undertaking work in the completion of reporting on Solvency 2 Pillar I and III requirements
  • Maintain accurate and up to date process notes
  • Undertake project work as required
  • Work closely with the other team members to provide coordinated service to the business
  • To ensure compliance with company and other relevant standards/ regulations at all times
  • Any other duties as reasonably required

Senior Accountant Skills:

  • Ideally Qualified ACA,ACCA,CIMA level
  • Must have at least 2 to 3 years similar experience working with Clients on their Accounting requirements
  • Insurance accounting experience is an ideal for this role
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Good time management and organisation skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines
  • People management and leadership skills and ability to motivate employees in a high pressurised environment
  • Supervisory experience is ideal but not essential
  • Problem solving skills, with the ability to identify problems and adopt a logical approach to resolving problems
  • Excellent numeracy skills
  • Computer literate
  • Commercially focused
