The Role

SRGEurope have been appointed to recruit an experienced Accountant for an exciting Legal company based in the thriving jurisdiction of Gibraltar. The Accountant role is responsible for the regular and prompt preparation of high quality financial statements for a portfolio of clients consisting of Trusts, Companies and Partnerships as part of our clients provision of fiduciary services. You will be a near or newly qualified ACCA, ACA or similar.

What You Will Be Doing

• Maintain accounting records in the client entity database (Viewpoint)

• Ensure the provision of accurate and timely financial statements prepared in accordance with relevant accounting standards for specific companies and trusts for audit and/or submission direct to the client and regulatory authorities

• Deals with resulting queries and accounting review points from third parties

• Preparation of tax returns as appropriate.

• Maintain loan, interest, income and expense schedules

• Ensure accounting procedure queries can be answered by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulation

• Ensure client expectations and accounting deadlines are properly managed

• Calculate the corporate management trust and accounts preparation fees of companies and trusts administered

• Provide information to Clients, Auditors and other third parties in a professional manner

• Advise and liaise with the Firm's lawyers and Company and Trust administration staff with regard to the accounting needs of clients

• Keep up to date with legislative changes (Tax Act, Companies Act, Insolvency Act) and Financial Reporting Standards (e.g. new UK GAAP and changes to IFRS's).

What You Will Need to Succeed In This Role

• Must hold at least 5 GCSEs (A-C) or equivalent, to include Maths and English.

• Newly Qualified Accountant (ACCA, ACA) or near to finishing with 2 or 3 papers left to completion.

• Experience in an accountancy or financial services environment.

• Experience of dealing with complex and detailed financial information.

• Able to make reasoned and objective decisions based on sound accounting knowledge.

• Highly proficient in relevant accounting software

• Advanced knowledge of MS Office suite - Excel and Outlook essential.

• Experience of Viewpoint would be an advantage.

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

• Demonstrates excellent analytical skills including ability to analyse complex data sets and a logical approach to problem solving.

• Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative

• Able to efficiently prioritise and manage workload of self and others to meet tight deadlines.
