Insurance Director (Part Time) required to oversee the daily operation of our client's insurance company based in Gibraltar. Reporting to the Senior Director of Underwriting based in their International HQ, you will bring knowledge of underwriting, financial concepts and analysis, pricing concepts and reinsurance expertise. You will have extensive knowledge of insurance topics to create, manage and optimize systems and procedures to ensure compliance is managed in the most cost effective and efficient manner.

What You Will Be Doing

• Establish policies and behaviours that promote their clients culture and vision.

• Seek continuous improvement in implementing business strategies, plans and procedures.

• This role will improve and implement business strategies, plans and procedures, and manage and cultivate existing relationships and workflow with internal and external stakeholders

• Work with the Senior Director to leverage "best practices" while recognizing and modifying where different practices are expressly authorized.

• Lead collateral governance for their Gibraltar based insurer.

• Evaluate performance by analysing and interpreting data and metrics.

• Coordinate and manage compliance responsibilities in conjunction with their Insurance Company Manager.

• Liaise with their Insurance Company Manager based in Gibraltar to ensure timely reporting and delivery of Solvency II equivalency and other regulatory requirements in Gibraltar.

• Prepare and present board and committee material and monitor outstanding action items.

What You Will Need to Succeed In This Role

• Experience of being responsible for the daily operations of insurance companies in Gibraltar and an appreciation of actuarial pricing models and techniques.

• Can identify root cause of problems, solve moderately complex issues and use good judgement when more complex issues need to be escalated.

• Demonstrate a confident and robust personality, not afraid to challenge.

• Exhibit a knowledge of Gibraltar and UK regulatory and conduct environments for customer insurance, particularly portable electronic insurance.

• Strong creative and commercial abilities as well as analytical approach to underwriting.

• Good analytical and reporting skills with some experience of presenting to senior management and board level groups.

• Minimum of 5 years relevant insurance industry experience.

• CII/ACII qualified is desirable, not essential.
